Licensed Psychologist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
As a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist, I have been providing psychological and educational services to students and families for more than 40 years. My services include psychological and educational consultations regarding educational placement and special education services. These services can be accessed both in person or virtually. Psychoeducational evaluations are also available.
When your child is struggling academically, it is important to ascertain what is contributing to the difficulty they are experiencing. A significant portion of my professional career has been spent working with children, especially focusing on problems in school. I provide psychological and educational assessments which can help understand the issues that are impacting school performance. A comprehensive evaluation can often help pinpoint where the problem lies and provide suggestions as to how to remediate the difficulty.
Appropriate educational interventions can greatly improve a student’s chances of success. I am available to consult with parents and teachers about modifications in the classroom that can facilitate academic progress. Other supportive services can also make the difference between academic success and failure.
My compassionate and gentle manner has been helpful with many children and their parents. In addition, I try to carefully listen to the areas of concern and decide, with you, the best goals for your child and try to find ways to have their needs addressed. I am available to talk with educators and to help the family and teachers both meet their goals of helping the student. I feel that it is the strength of the relationship that plays an important role in helping to resolve problems and I have a great deal of experience in helping parents and teachers find common ground and improve their working relationships.
Working with children and adults with learning disabilities is an important part of my work, including psychological testing and educational consultation. When there are learning issues, I conduct assessments of children and adults for academic difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, dyslexia, developmental delays and behavior problems. I am available to review previous testing and recommend a course of action going forward. Several of the services below can also be provided virtually.
